Manufacturing Engineer

Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer at LFI, you will be a part of a dynamic, cross-functional team, working closely with both internal and external customers to streamline and enhance manufacturing operations. Your primary responsibility will be to plan, direct, and execute engineering activities in a manufacturing environment, ensuring processes meet customer specifications, while optimizing cost-efficiency and operational effectiveness. You will focus primarily on laser welding, laser cutting and machining processes for the aerospace and surgical instrument industries with a focus on:

  • Collaborating with other departments and customers to address and implement solutions for manufacturing challenges.

  • Leading the engineering aspects of manufacturing projects to ensure on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and alignment with business goals.

  • Maintaining a strong emphasis on cost management, ensuring positive cash flow through effective process planning.

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality standards, enhancing customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Design: Create and design efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes for current and future workloads

  • Process Development: Oversee and coordinate all activities related to process development to enhance production capabilities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain and improve existing processes through enhancements and upgrades.

  • Project Management: Manage and coordinate internal plant and company improvement projects, ensuring timely completion.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external customers, Quality Assurance, and manufacturing teams to successfully complete projects on schedule.

  • Customer Communication: Prompt and effective communication with customers via phone, email and in-person meetings.   

 Essential Qualifications

  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation.

  • Experienced with SolidWorks and other engineering software.

  • 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong ability to design, coordinate, and report on experiments.

  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and methods.

  • Excellent computer and communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
