Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op
Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op at LFI, you will be a part of a cross-functional team, working closely with internal departments and external customers to support and optimize manufacturing processes, including laser and conventional machining. This position offers a hands-on learning experience where you will assist experienced engineers in maintaining and developing cutting-edge manufacturing operations. During your co-op, you will gain exposure to various aspects of manufacturing, including CNC machine operation, ISO standards, and logistics. This role is an excellent opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge of engineering practices in a real-world manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes.
Design manufacturing tooling and fixtures using CAD software.
Document and report on technical findings, focusing on Design of Experiments, new technologies, and product acquisition.
Collaborate with engineers, quality engineers and technicians, and production operations teams to manage documentation and perform basic logistical tasks.
Operate equipment to support Research + Development engineers in meeting project deadlines.
Essential Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Experience with SolidWorks (or other CAD software).
Familiarity with basic statistical concepts.
Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and reporting.
